Summer Fun Drink

Do your kids love Kool-Aid?? Mine do (or did) and so did I when I was little. We can’t forget those red “mustaches” you’d get from drinking a big ol’ glass of cherry! My favorite flavor was orange. Since we’ve gotten rid of artificial sweeteners and other unnatural ingredients, I had to create a new kid-friendly drink…FAST! This is very similar to lemonade with a hint of orange and mint. You can add more sweetener if you’d like but we kept ours pretty tart! It’s delicious and kid approved! Makes one large pitcher.

4 lemons, rind removed

4 mandarin (or regular) oranges, rind removed

5-7 spearmint leaves, fresh preferred

2 qts. Water/ice

2-5 Tbsp honey (or other natural sweetener, stevia, coconut nectar, etc)

In a juicer, combine lemons, oranges and mint (preferably alternating to the flavors get well blended. If you don’t have a juicer – 1st I recommend getting one! I love this one (aff link). 2nd– you can either blend them together and strain them, or use a hand juicer to get as much juice as possible. However you do it, pour the juice into a large pitcher with water and ice. Stir in honey until blended. Garnish with additional mint leaves if desired.

*Note: For an adult version, add in your favorite liquor. I suggest Vodka, Amaretto, or something similar.*
