Soothing Turmeric Milk

This drink is one of my very favorite comforting drinks for any time of year. Turmeric is known as one of the best natural sources for an anti-inflammatory. It has great nutritional properties and a bold flavor. I’ve also learned that it is best absorbed when combined with black pepper. Even though these spices are bold, when combined with the other ingredients, you get a surprisingly sweet and tasty drink. I like to keep a container of the dried spices on hand for a quick drink whenever I want. Makes 1 serving

Turmeric Milk8 oz coconut milk
1 tsp dried turmeric
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1-3 tsp raw honey

  • In a saucepan, heat coconut milk, turmeric, pepper, ginger and cinnamon until just boiling.
  • Whisk ingredients until smooth. Stir in honey until dissolved.
  • Pour into mug and enjoy.
