This drink is one of my very favorite comforting drinks for any time of year. Turmeric is known as one of the best natural sources for an anti-inflammatory. It has great nutritional properties and a bold flavor. I’ve also learned that it is best absorbed when combined with black pepper. Even though these spices are bold, when combined with the other ingredients, you get a surprisingly sweet and tasty drink. I like to keep a container of the dried spices on hand for a quick drink whenever I want. Makes 1 serving
8 oz coconut milk
1 tsp dried turmeric
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1-3 tsp raw honey
- In a saucepan, heat coconut milk, turmeric, pepper, ginger and cinnamon until just boiling.
- Whisk ingredients until smooth. Stir in honey until dissolved.
- Pour into mug and enjoy.
