Soothing Spiced Milk

You know those days when you are just feeling a little crummy? Not to the point of lying in the fetal position but you don’t really want to eat or do much? Chances are if you have a leaky gut or similar autoimmune condition, you know the feeling. If not, consider yourself lucky in that sense! I have tried so many different “remedies” I’ve lost count. Prior to finding out I could not have gluten or dairy, my go to comfort food was toast and a glass of milk. So scratch the toast and dairy milk. In substitution I have found that this milk blend is a great choice. It is lightly spiced with soothing ingredients such as cinnamon. Plus the anise and fennel seed is said to comfort yucky tummies. My kids like to drink it too! This makes 1 serving

Soothing Spiced Milk wm

1 cup coconut milk (or other)
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground anise seed
1/4 tsp ground fennel seed
1/2 tsp honey, optional

  • In a small saucepan, combine ingredients and heat over low until warm. Pour into a mug and relax!
    • I also like to use either a milk frother or immersion blender to give it a little bubbly, frothy taste.
