Soothing Immunity Juice

Autoimmune conditions are a pain (literally and figuratively). The kids have been a little snotty, coughy, etc this week. And I finally got it. I had high hopes that I’d missed the yuck bus but nope. Sometimes, you just have that little throat tickle, a bit of sneezing/coughing, or just feel “off”. This drink is full of immune boosting properties and it tastes so good. Serving it warm adds a bit of a comforting touch also. This drink is good for a cold but also has properties that aid in digestion or nausea also. This is just a great overall natural juice for better health. Makes 2 servings

Turmeric OJ

2 cups orange juice
1 orange sliced
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/8 tsp cayenne pepperpper
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Dash of ground cloves
1 star aniseor a dash of anise seed
1 cinnamon stick, optional
1 tsp elderberry extract
1 tsp royal jelly or raw honey
 

  • In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients, except honey. Bring to a slow simmer. Remove from heat and stir in honey.
  • Another tip: keep the star anise and cinnamon stick for another batch. Throw together any leftovers in a mason jar and make another batch for a quick drink when needed.
