I was flipping through some pins on Pinterest and I saw this pin that said cauliflower tastes like popcorn if it is roasted. I thought – nonsense. However, I also initially thought that cauliflower “rice” was crazy too – now I eat it 4 times a week. Anyway – I do NOT think that roasted cauliflower tastes like popcorn…at all; but it does taste good! Depending on how you season it, it can taste like a nice little snack without all the calories and junk. It makes a great side dish also. Cauliflower and I have become pretty close friends and I’m happy with that (we used to be mortal enemies!).
1 head cauliflower, cut/broke into small pieces
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/8 tsp chili powder
1 tsp sea salt
In a large bowl, combine cauliflower and olive oil. Sprinkle over seasonings and stir cauliflower with hands until each piece is coated with seasonings. Place cauliflower pieces in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast at 450F for about 15 minutes, turning halfway through. You might need to adjust your baking time depending on how small or large your cauliflower pieces are – just watch them to make sure they don’t burn. Cauliflower smells bad enough, I’m sure burnt cauliflower is unbearable.
