Ruby Red Juice

Juicing has many benefits. Some people use it for cleansing and detoxing. Others use it to gain valuable vitamins and nutrients through easy means. I like it to get my kids (and myself) to have a better intake of vegetables!!! Juicing also draws a TON of vitamins and nutrients from key elements of the fruits/veggies that are typically uneaten (skin, seeds, cores, etc). This juice is lovely – not only in looks but in flavor also. It is a sweet but has a slight bite to it (not too spicy though, kids will still drink it!) Makes about 16 oz

4 small (or a couple medium) beets
2 apples (I used 1 granny smith, 1 red delicious)
2 large carrots, peeled
1 large orange, peeled
1 small piece of ginger, peeled (about 1/2″)
1 tsp cinnamon

  • In a juicer, combine all ingredients. Refrigerate juice in a sealed container for up to two days. You could also freeze the juice and thaw later – as long as you use the thawed juice up quickly.
