Easy Ranch Kale Chips

Easy Ranch Kale Chips

One of my top two favorite foods is kale and even my kids are HUGE fans – if it comes in the form of a chip! Not a greasy fried chip, but a simple dehydrated or baked kale chip. I’ve mentioned before that I am the worst at keeping house or garden plants alive. However, kale is so easy to grow that even I can manage to keep it alive! It’s so hearty even in cooler temps too. This year we planted 24 kale plants. I know, that sounds crazy! Over half of our garden is kale and we never waste any!  We’ve been making up tons of batches of kale chips to help us use it up in different ways! What we love about it is how versatile the chips can be as far as flavor options. I’m going to share our favorite way plus some other flavor options! These are best enjoyed the day of unless you place moisture absorber packs in the storage container with the kale chips.

ALL of my kiddos LOVE these kale chips…..even the toddler 😉

Personally, I prefer making these in the dehydrator. We have a HUGE dehydrator because we make our own jerky, fruit strips, etc. You can find a large dehydrator like ours here on Amazon OR a smaller one here. Of course, the oven method works well too if you do not have a dehydrator. Just watch them closely in the oven so they do not burn.

Recipe Notes

NOTES: to save even more time, you can use a ranch dressing packet to coat the kale pieces.

Other flavor options: I love using FlavorGod seasoning blends for everything. We simply added a little bit of salt plus our favorite blends to toss the kale chips in. Our faves: Pizza, Cajun, Honey BBQ and Everything Spicy.
