You know what they say… “breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” I don’t like to show favorites but I do love breakfast. What people need most is a good, healthy, hearty breakfast to get you started. That’s what this is.. our breakfast of champions! It includes lean proteins, vegetables, healthy fats and low glycemic fruit. In addition, it’s simple to make! Kids even love it!
2-3 oz lean sausage- Try this Venison Sausage or Turkey Sausage
1 broiled grapefruit – link here
1 avocado, sliced
1 serving of scrambled eggs with veggies -try these: Asparagus Potato Scramble, Mean Green Scramble
1 tomato, diced
1 cup spinach or kale
1/4 cup diced bell peppers
1/4 cup diced mushrooms
1 Tbsp olive oil
1/4 tsp oregano
Dash of salt and pepper
There are many options for great breakfasts. The key is to give your body the energy it needs to start the day. It’s okay to have a few carbs – as long as they are healthy. Notice this breakfast doesn’t include any breads? In addition, we choose low sugar fruits – like citrus fruits or berries. I suggest serving this with a cup of coffee (limited on milk/creamer/sugar) or hot tea. For even more Paleo-goodness, try a cup of Bulletproof Coffee or Bulletproof Chai Tea!
