Orange Dreamsicle Smoothie

This would be a perfect summertime drink on a hot day! I love the addition of orange to a smooth, creamy drink. It provides a sweet, yet tart taste that is a nice difference from traditional milk drinks. This is a good meal replacement or post workout snack to fit into your day. The protein powder is optional but helps make the smoothie more filling (plus the extra nutrients). This makes one smoothie.

1 orange, juice and zest

1 cup almond milk

½ cup ice

¼ cup coconut milk (canned)

1 tsp honey

1 scoop protein powder (optional)

 

In a large blender, combine ingredients and blend for about 2 minutes or until smooth. Feel free to add more or less ice to the mixture to get desired consistency.
