Mint Chip Ice Cream

Do you ever wonder how ice cream manufacturers get their mint ice cream that beautiful green color?? Chances are it is artificial colors and flavorings. The secret to this recipe is avocado – don’t worry, you can’t taste it! Just because you have or are trying to eliminate unhealthy processed foods doesn’t mean you have to give up cool treats on a warm day! Try this recipe for Mint Chip Ice Cream – it is low fat, no sugar added, gluten free, dairy free, soy free, no artificial anything = completely natural! Makes 4 servings

4 large bananas, frozen

1/4 cup fresh mint leaves

1 avocado, peeled and frozen

1/4 cup dark chocolate chips – cocoa nibs


In a large blender, or Yonanas maker, alternate bananas, mint avocado and chips and blend together. Stir ice cream until well combined and blended. Optional – freeze for about 15 minutes to get firmer ice cream for cones, etc.

    You know what’s funny? When I was younger and could eat ice cream, mint chocolate chip was my favorite flavor, however… I would only eat it if it were GREEN! ha ha ha!!! Clearly I wanted it EXTRA unhealthy 😉
