What a beautiful and perfect weekend for a fall festival! That’s right, my hometown has a big Columbus Days celebration and this year, I got to sell my book!
It was such a busy day but so great. I love getting to attend events in other (larger) cities as there are so many more people who can appreciate what living what food allergies is like. However, nothing compares to getting to see everyone I know from our small community. I was busy all day long, sold out of almost everything AND got to enjoy wonderful conversation. There’s something about a small town that just keeps me here…
Another reason I loved this festival was that it was the first official event where I sold my own allergy-friendly baked goods! Drumroll…….
I’ve decided to open up my own allergy-friendly bakery – right here in SE Kansas! 🙂
It’s a work in progress… meaning I’m still getting licensing and registration requirements met and will begin work on building my official kitchen VERY soon! Over the last five years, I’ve been trying to find my purpose – and helping others with food allergies/sensitivities/intolerances, etc is my calling. I want everyone to enjoy homestyle baked goods, without having to worry about what’s in it. I’ll be specializing in gluten-free goods (from a dedicated GF kitchen) but I also have a WIDE variety of experience in other allergy-friendly foods (egg-free, dairy-free, soy-free, etc.) You name it, I’ll give it my best shot to make it delicious!
