Another busy Monday for us – I hope your day goes smoothly for you! We are looking forward to a week of nicer, warmer weather here so I plan on taking FULL advantage of that! It’s week’s like this that make me impatiently ready for summer. However, I must enjoy each day – not just the nice, warm ones 😉
At any rate – I hope you had a great Valentine’s Day. Over the years, my husband and I have realized that it’s not so much Valentine’s Day that makes us think of our love – but each day. Now on Valentine’s, we enjoy sharing in the day with the children and enjoying each other’s company. We both are doing a Whole30 for Lent so the sweets weren’t around for us. However, the weather was nice and we were able to work on our house (we are building for those just tuning in to this site). We decided to not do gifts this year – last year I believe I got him wood chips for his smoker and he got me a new frying pan (we are SO romantic!). Instead, I wanted to celebrate our first holiday with the new house. SO, we had a little wine and strawberries on a blanket in the house, next to a heater and spot lights. It is framed up and has a roof but no drywall or electricity yet. Then, my FAVORITE part, was writing bible verses on the frames of each room of the house. I know my husband and I will be the only ones who see them but it was a great time to reflect on our roller-coaster life and pray for the future in our house. It may have been a cold and dusty Valentine’s evening but it is one we won’t soon forget.
