Good Friday morning all!
I don’t know if you are huge Amazon fans like we are, but I thought I’d throw a sweet deal your way! Amazon is having a sale on their Kindles! You can get an 8GB Kindle Fire HD 7″ for $119!!!! I have one and LOVE it! They are also having sales on their other models, including the newest version!! Click on the link below to check it out**! It might make an awesome gift for mother’s day – even if you buy it for yourself 🙂
I typically make a green bean dish using a balsamic vinaigrette (you can find that recipe here!). I didn’t have any balsamic so I tried to think of another sauce I could make. I had Dijon mustard and gluten free soy sauce on hand. I gave it a try and we loved it! The Dijon mustard and soy sauce strangely go well together plus the cumin and paprika give it a smoky flavor. These would be perfect with some brisket or another smoked meat. You could also throw in some mushrooms if desired! Add this dish to your Easter table!
1 lb fresh green beans
1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
½ cup onions, diced
2 Tbsp olive oil
¼ cup soy sauce or aminos
1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
2 Tbsp coconut sugar or brown sugar
½ tsp cumin
½ tsp paprika
1 tsp minced garlic
½ tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
- In a large skillet, sauté green beans, mushrooms, and onions in olive oil until cooked to crisp-tender, about 20 minutes.
- While veggies are cooking, combine soy sauce, mustard, sugar, cumin, paprika, garlic, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Whisk until ingredients are well blended.
- Pour sauce over green bean mixture and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
