Italian Garlic Green Beans

I love a quick and easy side dish that goes with just about any meal – like this one! Plus, the local farmers have an abundance of green beans right now! The flavor combination of the balsamic reduction and the garlic is perfect! These beans go great with a roast, grilled or baked chicken, fish, etc. Makes about 4 servings

Italian Garlic Green Beans

1 lb green beans, trimmed
2 Tbsp coconut or olive oil
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1 tsp raw honey
1 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup onion, diced
1/2 tsp sea salt

  • In a large skillet, heat coconut oil. Add in beans, garlic and onion. Sprinkle with salt.
  • Cook for about 10 minutes or until beans are just slightly soft.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic and honey.
  • Pour over beans and let simmer for about 6-8 minutes until just slightly reduced.
