Honey Ginger Salmon

This is a simple, yet tasty way to cook salmon. Salmon is full of important nutrients and is one of our favorite seafood dishes. It’s very versatile as well. My husband likes a sweet salmon, while I prefer a more salty taste. This seemed to be a good combination that we both enjoyed. The honey and ginger go perfect together and the splash of balsamic vinegar gives it a tangy flavor. Throw on some cilantro for color and it’s great! We like to pan sear our seafood or grill it, but you could also bake it or throw it together in a foil pack. This makes four servings

4 salmon filets
1 Tbsp olive oil
1Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp orange juice
¼ cup coconut water
1 tsp balsamic vinegar
1 tsp ground ginger
½ tsp cilantro
Sea salt and black pepper

  •  In a small bowl, combine honey, juice, coconut water, balsamic vinegar, ginger and cilantro.
  • In a large skillet (or other preferred cooking method), heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Place salmon filets in skillet and sprinkle both sides with a little salt and pepper.
  • Pour honey ginger mixture over salmon and continue to sear until both sides of the fish are starting to brown. I usually cook mine about 6 minutes per side, depending on how thick the salmon is.
