Just like my Peanut Butter mix, this makes a great holiday gift or is good to serve as a snack before your big meal. This is great for people who aren’t a big fan of sweets (if there is even such a person ;)). It has a nice, salty, yet savory flavor and the garlic gives it a nice extra kick. Don’t leave out the vinegar as it gives the mix a nice tangy flavor! Makes about 2.5 cups of mix.
2 cups popped, plain popcorn
½ cup GF pretzels, broken into pieces
¼ cup roasted almonds
1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
¼ cup butter or coconut oil
¼ cup olive oil
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp roasted, dry garlic
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp sea salt
1 tsp coconut vinegar or rice vinegar
1 Tbsp dried chives
- In a large mixing bowl, combine popcorn, pretzels, almonds and sesame seeds.
- In a small saucepan, combine butter, oils, garlic, pepper, salt, vinegar and chives. Heat until simmering and drizzle over popcorn mixture.
- Stir popcorn until all pieces are coated with sesame sauce. Spread onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Let set for about an hour and then place in sealed containers.
