If you live gluten-free or allergy-free, you’ll know the challenge of finding breakfast foods. I grew up on Fruity Pebbles, Cap’n Crunch, French Toast Crunch, Mini Wheats, etc. Cereal was probably my biggest comfort food.
Once I went gluten-free (as well as the rest of my family for support), we missed those cereals. Sure, there are some really great brands out there that offer tasty gluten-free cereals but they are mainly more for adult tastes – like whole grain flakes, granolas, oatmeals, etc. Don’t get me wrong, my kids love them too BUT they didn’t know what they were missing until I found Freedom Foods at the Dallas GFAF Expo this year.
I stopped by the Freedom table – curious as I had never seen this brand before. They had cereals to sample… but not just any cereals – TropicO’s, Cocoa Crunch and Fruity Rainbow Rocks… plus some All-Round Goodness, Ancient Grain flakes, etc. Instantly, I knew we had to try the Cocoa Crunch and the TropicO’s. One of my favorite parts of my childhood breakfast-on-the-go was Cocoa Krispies because I loved the way the cereal turned my whole milk into chocolate milk. YUM! The TropicO’s were for my husband because let’s face it – he’s practically a 5 year old at heart and he LOVES those fruit flavored loops! Results – AMAZING!
Not only are these products great for kids, but adults as well. If your not into the sweeter cereals, the Maple flakes, Ancient Grain and All-Round Goodness cereals are great for a lighter taste, yet filling breakfast or snack. But that’s not even the best part…
Freedom Foods products are non-GMO and gluten-free BUT are also dairy-free, wheat-free, peanut-free, tree-nut free, soy-free, egg-free and sesame-free! They are literally free of the most common food allergens. For coloring, the company uses natural options such as turmeric, paprika, sweet potato, carrot, etc to get those cute little color variations.
Freedom Foods has also launched a line of allergen-free oat bars that are great for lunchboxes. They are peanut and tree nut free so they are safe for nut-free schools! Both the cereal and bar lines use quality ingredients to support digestive health such as high fiber and high protein ingredients as well as prebiotics.
I love companies that also employ extreme allergy testing procedures and Freedom Foods does that. Not only do they thoroughly test their products for allergens, but their products are also made in allergen-free facilities. The risk of cross-contamination is minimal which makes them a brand to trust for those with severe allergies or sensitivities.
Overall, I’m VERY pleased to have found Freedom Foods and will be a frequent customer of theirs. Its rare that I can find products that my kids love to eat that I can feel really good about feeding them. With Freedom Foods, I can do just that – which makes all of us happy!
