Looking for a holiday drink to serve your guests? This is so easy with 4 ingredients! You can substitute the sparkling water for wine or regular water. It tastes like fancied up version of apple cider and can be served hot or cold! Using the slow cooker, not only makes for easy work, but also helps your house smell amazing!! This recipe is easily made all natural if you use water as your base! Makes about 8 servings
8 cups water, sparkling water, red/white wine, Sprite®, or any combination
6 apples, peeled and diced
1 orange, sliced
3 cinnamon sticks
In a slow cooker, combine ingredients. Cook on high for 4 hours and then keep on warm as long as your guests are still sipping on it. Strain the juice into glasses to remove any pulp, if desired. Garnish with apple wedges and cinnamon sticks.
You can also cook this on the stovetop for a faster beverage. Throw ingredients into a large stockpot and simmer until apples are soft.
For an all natural beverage – use water with the fruit. The apples present a nice sweet and tart flavor without added sugars. For an adult beverage, use red or white wine in place of water. Kids love this with a little carbonation from sparkling water or Sprite. It is easily adaptable to fit your taste buds!
FYI – I will be serving this up at the Webb City Farmer’s Market on Nov. 22 from 9-12! Come check out the wonderful items available for their winter market. Don’t worry about the cold – they are heated!
