Warm summer mornings typically call for cool, refreshing smoothies. However, you can enjoy this tasty drink all year long! This smoothie features delicious summer berries like strawberries and blueberries; adding cherries is just ‘icing on the cake’. It’s great with a touch of protein powder if you are looking for pre or post workout pick-me-up! This makes 1 serving
8 oz milk (coconut, almond or other)
1/2 banana
1/2 berries of choice (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
1/2 cup cherries, pitted
1/2 cup ice
1 Tbsp coconut flakes
In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend for about a minute or until smooth.
*For a great protein powder, I like Garden of Life Raw Powder or Vega One Powder. Both are great vegan sources of protein – featuring peas, brown rice, etc – no dairy or whey. Both brands are non-GMO and have mild tastes. PS – I get nothing from either company, I just got very familiar with TONS of powders while on a liquid diet for 18+ months ;)*
