Bruschetta Turkey Burgers

Turkey burgers are a great source of low-fat protein as turkey is much leaner than beef. I love adding a variety of ingredients to liven up our burgers. This recipe takes two of my favorite dishes and combines them. Bruschetta is a great Italian appetizer, typically served on bread (but not in this house!). It tastes great blended with the turkey. Of course, you can serve this on your favorite bread recipe but we usually just eat it alone with our favorite steamed veggies. Makes 4 servings.

1 lb lean ground turkey

1 tsp sea salt

1 tsp black pepper

1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar

1/2 cup chopped tomatoes

1/4 cup chopped basil leaves

1/2 cup shredded cheese (dairy free if necessary)

 

In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, salt, pepper and vinegar. Fold in tomatoes, basil and cheese until well combined. Form into 4 patties and cook as desired – grill, skillet, oven, etc.
