Want one of the easiest breakfast items you can make?? Try this grapefruit. It is so simple and delicious. I seriously disliked grapefruit before I tried it this way. I’ve heard of broiling citrus fruits but never gave it much thought because frankly, I didn’t like them anyway. To me grapefruit is extremely bitter and I find that covering it with sugar is a waste of healthy fruits. My husband likes salt on his…. I don’t get him either! ha! However, broiling grapefruit seems to bring out that natural sweetness and remove some of the bitterness. I like topping mine with spices to give it extra flavor. I’ve listed a few of my favorite flavor combinations – try your own!!
1 grapefruit, cut in half and segments cut
Spice of choice
a very SMALL amount of sweetener, optional (honey, coconut sugar, etc)
In a baking dish such as a cake pan, place the grapefruit cut side up. Sprinkle with spices and optional sweetener. Broil on high for about 5-7 minutes.
