Blueberry Maca Smoothie

This smoothie is packed with natural proteins. There’s no need for a protein powder but, by all means, add some if you like! I love the combination of maca and blueberry in this drink. Maca does have a distinct flavor and is loaded with nutrients. Maca is typically found in the Andes mountains and it’s root is used for many medicinal functions. It is said to be used for anemia, fatigue, memory, fertility and it includes fatty and amino acids. Combining maca powder with hemp and chia seeds not only provides an energy boost but also protein. Drink this before your workout to help energy levels! Makes 1 serving

berry maca smoothie

1 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup ice cubes
1 Tbsp coconut flakes
1/2 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
1 tsp maca powder
1 tsp chia seeds
1 tsp hemp seeds
1 tsp raw honey, if desired
In a blender, combine ingredients and blend for about 30 seconds or until smooth.
