Okay, I know what you are thinking… asparagus juice? No way. Don’t judge it just yet…. not only does it feature nutritious green vegetables such as asparagus, zucchini, cucumber and celery; but it also includes some sweet, flavorful fruits to balance out flavors. Asparagus is a great food to help aid in digestion, is full of vitamins and nutrients and is also a natural diuretic to help those with high blood pressure or other heart diseases. I always recommend getting as many greens as possible – make it easy with this tasty juice!
*TIP: Use the fibrous stalks of the vegetable, not the tasty tip. Cut the tips off as you normally would for a typical asparagus recipe. Instead of discarding those end pieces, use them in this recipe! Less waste!*
1-2 cups of asparagus stems
1 cucumber, whole
2 celery stalks
small zucchini (or pieces/peels of zucchini)
1 orange, peeled
1 granny smith apple
Wash all fruits and vegetables. Place ingredients in a juicer and juice. Store in a sealed container in fridge for up to three days. This is best served cold.
