Homemade Cinnamon Pecan Butter

Today represents 6 months of posting for me! It went fast! I’ve received over 8,500 views in just a couple months since making my blog public! I’m excited about that! Thank you all for reading my posts!

I’ve always wanted to try pecan butter. I love almond butter and cashew butter. However, sometimes it is SO expensive to buy it. You can easily spend $15 on a regular sized jar of it. No thanks! I can buy a big package of plain pecans (or I can crack the gallons of pecans that fell out of my mom’s tree!) for less than that. Plus by making it myself, I know exactly what is going in it – no preservatives, artificial flavors, gluten, etc. It was really very simple to make and tastes great! I added some flaxseed oil for to get some more good fats for myself but you could replace with another type of oil if desired or leave it out! Makes 1 16oz jar.

2 pounds pecans, unsalted, plain
1 Tbsp cinnamon
¼ cup oil (flax, coconut, etc)
2 Tbsp honey
1 tsp sea salt

  • In a high powered blender (I used my Ninja), combine ingredients and blend for at least 3 minutes.
  • I stopped after each minute and scraped down the sides to get the mix to blend faster.
  • It took almost 5 minutes of blending for 2 pounds of pecans. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.

Okay – this is the best “technical” answer I have ha! When I put the pecans in my blender it was near the 8 cup line. I used pecan halves. Also, what I did was blend the ingredients and then did a taste test for sweetness, etc. You could add more or less sugar depending on what taste you preferred.
